A: The immigration argentine declare that it is necessary to obtain a particular VISA for all stays during more than 90 days: principally the Labor VISA or the Student VISA. (Article 24 INCISO A LA LEY 25.871, DECRETO)
Concretely, the procedures for the VISA making are very long and tedious.
3 other alternatives are possible for all stays of more than 90 days:
- Going to the Immigration Service after 90 days. You can request to renew the tourist visa stamp on your passport. You’ll get a visa extension of 90 days. The cost of this process is $ 300 ARS or approximately 60 € / 75 U.S. Dollars.
- Leaving the country before the 90th day of your tourist visa. And then, come back to the Argentine territory after a minimum of 24 hours or more. Thus, you will get 90 additional days on your passport.
Our advice: Leaving from Buenos Aires for the weekend in direction to Uruguay. Enjoy to visit Colonia (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The easiest way to get there is by boat (2h or 3h). The company assuring the connections is Buquebus.
- When you return to your country, after more than 90 days, you will pass to the Emigratrion office of the Ezeiza International Airport. You will have to pay the penalty for exceeding your tourist visa. The penalty is $300 ARS or approximately 60 € / 75 U.S. Dollars.

Our advice: Use ”Monedero” card. You have to load it at the box office, it is convenient and economical.
- Taxi: 15 min of Taxi = about 15 ARS. The odometer starts at 5.80 ARS during the day, and at 6.80 ARS at night.
The peak hours are from 7 to 9 AM and from 18 to 20h in the evening, which corresponds to the traffic of people going in and leaving work.

A: For security reasons, we recommend you to take precautions (do not have valuable objects, do not show that you are foreigners …) ifyou walk around in some neighborhoods at night. Especially in the districts of La Boca, San Telmo, Costanera Sur, Norte and losBosques de Palermo. In contrast, in areas like Recoleta, Palermo and Microcentro, security is not a problem. Choose taxis with an identification ”Radiotaxi” on the roof but also those you can call by phone to come and get you where you are.
Housing:

For security reasons, we choose an apartment which is not over 25 minutes away from work for each student. Options (single or double bed) depends on availability of each accommodation. Moreover, if the internships are not in the same districts, we can not assure you that you can live together.

A: The apartments we offer must fill the following conditions:
Location: Belgrano - Palermo - Recoleta - Almagro - Villa Crespo -San Telmo - Centro.
Facilities and Services:
- Ventilation / Air conditioning in the apartment, preferably in the bedroom of the person (rental from October 1 to March 30)
